Privacy choices

When you accept, we load the X (Twitter) advertising tag, which sets cookies belonging to X Corp. and lets us tell how many people who arrived from one of our campaigns went on to sign up. That is all we use it for: it is never given your email address, your name or any hashed form of them.

Declining stops the tag being loaded on every page from here on, and deletes the advertising cookies it left on this site. It cannot pull back a tag that is already running on the page in front of you — that one stops the next time you load a page — and the cookies X sets on its own domain are outside our reach, so those are cleared through your browser’s settings.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it automatically: advertising cookies stay off, you are never asked, and anything an earlier acceptance left on this site is deleted the next time you load a page. Our own visitor analytics are self-hosted and cookieless, run for everyone either way, and are not affected by anything on this page.
